SRS has the most competitive water extraction and structural drying rates in the Bay Area. We utilize premium dehumidification equipment to ensure fast and complete drying while utilizing IIRC methodologies and drying practices that is industry approved and proven to work best.
Category 1 Water – Refers to a source of water that does not pose substantial threat to humans and classified as “Clean Water”. Examples are broken water supply lines, tub or sink overflows or appliance malfunctions that involve water supply lines.
Category 2 Water – Refers to a source of water that contains a significant degree of chemical, biological or physical contaminants and causes discomfort or sickness when exposed or even consumed. Known as “Grey Water”, this type carries micro-organisms and nutrients for pathogen growth. Examples are toilet bowls with urine (no feces), sump pump failures, seepage due to hydrostatic failure and water discharge from dishwashers or washing machines.
SRS typically dries category 1 & 2 water damage within 3 days.
Category 3 Water – Known as “Black Water”, is grossly unsanitary. This water contains unsanitary agents, harmful bacteria and fungi, and can cause severe discomfort or sickness. Category 3 contamination originates from sources that affect the indoor environment. The sources can include water sources from sewage, seawater, rising water from rivers or streams, ground surface water or standing water. Category 2 water or “Grey Water” that has not been promptly removed from the structure and or has remained stagnant for 48-72 hours may be reclassified as Category 3 Water. A toilet back-flow that originates from beyond the toilet trap is considered black water contamination regardless of visible content or color.
SRS has the equipment and experience to mitigate category 3 water damage. Category 3 events typically require 3-5 days to complete the clean-up process.
